MIFI® a Campus Hotspot

It’s senior year, and finally the last semester-Final project time! Ok, so the learning team had been selected, the project agreed upon, and now it is time to roll up our sleeves and get down to business. We need a spot to get online and start the brainstorming process.

Cramped in with a thousand noisy students, the dormitory definitely wasn’t the place…

How about the library? Nope, probably another 500 students in there, in addition to the librarian constantly raising her index finger to her lips and going SHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Then we thought we had it…the Brainiac Café! The perfect place-good food, relaxed atmosphere, and Wi-Fi enabled. But when we got there, The Digable Moondogs where hosting their weekly spoken word competition… Good Grief!!!

What were we to do? Then, as if written in a script, the television in the neighboring coffee shop blares out…. “ So, what do you know about Mobile Wi-fi….”

We all looked at each other, and, instinctively, all blurted out, in unison, “Whoa!!!”

It…it was like divine intervention or something! We each were already armed with our laptops and were only a group of four! So, we immediately decided to rent a MiFi® for the rest of the semester. With the affordable rental plan, it was a no brainer.

With our MiFi® wireless internet rental card connection, we were able to ditch the stuffy library and work on the presentation in the campus courtyard, with the warm sun and a fresh breeze to stir up creativity. Without the constraints of an ordinary internet connection, we were free to let the creativity flow!

Fast forward four weeks. We submitted the project and got an A! It’s graduation time, moving on to the official world of adulthood. Of course we think back on the mark we’ve left behind on campus. The friends and the foes, the late nights cramming, we’re almost sad to leave. But the biggest mark is all the freshmen who borrowed our idea and are using a MiFi® wireless internet card connection to complete group projects.
